TransWest transmission developer seeks FERC approval for capacity solicitation

TransWest Express, the developer of a long-planned multistatetransmission line in the western US, intends to hold an open season forcapacity on its project as soon as March, though that date depends onthe Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approving its request.TransWest Express, owned by private developer The AnschutzCorp., applied to FERC on Dec. 11, for authority to sell transmissionservice rights on its transmission line, running 732 miles in threesegments from central Wyoming to the Las Vegas area (ER21-645). Itis also seeking negotiated rate authority and approval of a capacityallocation process.
