Glick derides decision sparing hydro project licensee from responsibility over flooding

Federal Energy Regulatory Commission member Richard Glick blasted commission staff's denial of a hydropower project complaint as flippant and asserted such decisions should not be delegated to staff. The complaint, filed in December 2018 by the City of Miami, Oklahoma, sought to force the Grand River Dam Authority to acquire 13,000 acres of land in and around the city that has repeatedly flooded since the commission licensed GRDA to operate the 105.18 MW Pensacola Hydroelectric Project (P-1494) in 1992.
