As the oil and gas sectors grapple with coronavirus-related market impacts, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission was urged to keep advancing pipelines and driving toward efficient markets, but also to adjust to the heightened focus on sustainability among buyers and investors. The comments came as the commission, during a two-day technical conference, probed potential effects that changes in gas and oil demand may have on operations planning and infrastructure development. Robert Brooks, founder and president of RBAC, said July 9 that the greatest blow to energy consumption has been to transportation fuels, with less severe impacts to natural gas demand from the commercial and industrial sectors and LNG exports.
