FERC backs MVP Southgate, pipe expansions for Calcasieu Pass, other projects

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approved significantnatural gas transportation projects at its June meeting, including a73-mile extension of the Mountain Valley Pipeline natural gas mainline, an expansion of the Portland Natural Gas Transmission system in NewEngland, and two pipeline expansions that will serve Venture GlobalLNG’s Calcasieu Pass LNG export terminal in Louisiana.FERC issued eight orders in Natural Gas Act certificate proceedingsat its June 18 meeting. Commissioner Richard Glick, a Democrat,issued partial dissents on six, but Chairman Neil Chatterjee,Commissioner Bernard McNamee, and Commissioner James Danly, allRepublicans, formed a strong majority.
