Canada’s Woodfibre LNG Export has signed BP as its first customerwith an agreement to deliver 0.75 million mt/year of LNG for a 15-yearperiod, likely from 2023, the company said Thursday.The 2.1 million mt/year Woodfibre LNG export facility, on the coastof British Columbia, is relatively small, representing about one-tenth ofthe size of most other projects proposed to export LNG from Canada’swest coast, according to Platts data.However, it is the only facility in Canada to have progressed toconstruction stage after passing environmental scrutiny.The deal is based on an FOB basis, according to Woodfibre LNGExport, a unit of Pacific Oil & Gas, or PO&G, which is part of theSingaporean conglomerate RGE.
