Action must be taken now to craft comprehensive protocols to address cyber-related vulnerabilities in the electric sector supply chain, the co-author of a new report on supply chain risk management said in remarks released Tuesday. A complex web of vendors, contractors and third-party suppliers are providing adversaries with a slew of targets in the electricity supply chain that can be used to create or exploit vulnerabilities needed to initiate attacks on US utilities and their equipment.
