OUTLOOK 2020: Slower gas supply growth gives little relief to global markets

Slower growth in gas supply next year will offer little relief to globalmarkets as Asia and Europe struggle to absorb more LNG cargoescoming mainly from the US, S&P Global Platts Analytics projected in a2020 energy market outlook released Wednesday.Global LNG supply will grow next year by an estimated 32 Bcm, theslowest pace in the past five years. The gain in supply compares with a40 Bcm/year increase in absolute liquefaction capacity, the balance ofwhich is expected to go underutilized.
