Given the evolving picture of mobile and converged services, vehicular networks have caught the attention of academia and vehicle manufacturers to promote communication of vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I). The deployment of vehicular communications will be incomplete without considering security features. Optimal security for the network should be ensured to avoid false information to be transmitted from one node (vehicle) to the other node on the road and prevent the disclosure and inference of sensitive user information. Based on these needs, Secure Vehicle Communication (SeVeCom) is set up by a consortium of universities and industries to research on the future-proof solution to the problem of V2V and V2I security.
