Coating Keeps Car; Mobile Phone Scratch-Free for Several Years

Research scientists at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) developed a coating, which can repair its surface by itself after being severed by damage. This technology could find applications in a wide spectrum of industries, such as aerospace, automotives, and even consumer goods. Present advancement in this field of research represents development of functional coatings with high-quality water resistivity and antibacterial properties. The coatings consist of nano-sized molecular groups on their surface that are responsible for the protective properties.
