Flexible Sensor for Foldable Smartphones

Smartphones and tablets require more advanced touch sensors to keep pace with the fast lifestyle of end users and their preferences. Current smartphones and tablets are fragile and are not easy to transport because they are made of non-flexible materials. A team of researchers from the University of British Columbia led by John Madden, research supervisor and professor, has developed a flexible sensor using an inexpensive mix of silicon and gel. The sensor is primarily meant to be used in smart phones.
