摘要

Fouoroaluminate glasses activated with EuF_3 and containing CeF_3 or a transition-metal fluoride were prepared. After irradiation with a gamma dose of 10~5 to 10~7 rad, the induced-absorption spectra of the glasses were measured, and the kinetics of thermal bleaching was followed. The glasses containing EuF_3 show no strong absorption in the visible and IR regions because Eu~3+ ions act as electron traps. The presence of hole traps (Ti~3+ and Cr~3+) leads to redistribution of electrons between trapping centers of the glass matrix and Eu~3+, accompanied by an increase in induced absoption .The fluoroaluminate glass containing 1 mol/100 EuF_3 + 0.5 mol/100 CeF_3 is fairly stable toward crystallization and exhibits enhanced radiation resistance.
