Natural mixed tocopherols are one of the most widely used antioxidants, applied in a vast range of consumer products. Their main function is to delay rancidity and sensory deterioration caused by oxidation of oils and fats, thus extending product shelf life while helping to deliver all-natural products to the consumer. Given their well-known efficacy and commercial-scale availability due to their presence in several major oilseeds such as soybean, rapeseed and sunflower, they are one of the leading replacements of synthetic antioxidants, which are often associated with adverse health conditions and increasingly being removed from consumer products. Their versatility has led to a wide array of applications, including industries such as food and beverage, nutrition, personal care, feed and pet food, among others.
