Storage networking has produced changes in the way some enterprises manage their storage resources. But storage networks still don't work well when it comes to remote locations. If an office is more than 125 miles or so from the central site, some other form of networking is needed to connect people to the information held in storage. That can pose problems. Using a WAN running Ethernet creates latency problems, especially when a company is trying to send large data or video files.
