摘要

Law-Enforcement Groups In Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia began sharing law-enforcement data last week via the Capital Wireless Integrated Network. Launched early this summer, the federally funded Cap Win system had allowed law enforcers wireless access to data pertaining only to their own jurisdictions. Previous attempts at integrating data from different jurisdictions were hampered by incompatible wireless networks and data-transfer protocols and depart- mental policies that prohibited data sharing because of concerns about data security.
