Just what wall street doesn't need: Another dose of uncertainty, and this time, it's personal. Thomson Reuters said it had complied with a court order to stop using Face-Time instant message software well in advance of its Aug. 1 deadline. It did so by building its own in-house solution. A U.S. District Court judge had ruled that Thomson Reuters had to stop using its FaceTime IM software by Aug. 1 af- ter failing to make a final payment to the contractor that provided it. Reuters news service had used the software in an IM service it sold to traders and others in the financial industry. The software helped Wall Street insiders use IM while also complying with SEC regulations that require saving electronic communications.
