Blank Rome LLP, adopts Enterprise-wide Virtual Infrastructure

Blank Rome LLP is one of the fastest growing American Law firms with more than 1,200 people in eight U.S. locations, as well as an office in Hong Kong. But with such growth comes challenge. Two years ago, the company found itself running out of space-literally and figuratively-in its main Philadelphia data center, says Frank Gurfolino, the firm's Chief Network Architect. The company, which had approximately 20 physical servers across the enterprise, only 12 years ago, was quickly approaching 200 physical servers, with about 150 of those located in the Philadelphia data center. Larry Liss, Chief Technology Officer at Blank Rome, approached Gurfolino a few years ago with the notion of reducing the number of servers in the facility while still allowing tor rapid provisioning of new services. Virtualization, says Gurfolino, was the way to go.
