As CTO of Giant Interactive Group, Song Shiliang led R&D for RealServer, the technology behind ZT Online, a multiplayer online role-playing game that, in its peak of popularity last year, boasted more than 2 million simultaneous players. Song's team developed a new generation of features, such as the ability to display the physical location of players. Behind all the games, though, is serious IT leadership and discipline. Song's IT team obtained ISO 20000 international certification, the first online game company so accredited in China, and he's di-rected construction of an advanced informa-tion management sys-tern relying on ITIL global best practices.
