The number of under-grads majoring in computer science at U.S. universities rose last year after six years of decline. That's a significant turnaround from the trend of students shying away from computer degrees in the aftermath of the dot-com bust and fears that offshore outsourcing would replace U.S. tech jobs.rnThe Computing Research Association's annual Taulbee Survey of 192 U.S. universities with doctoral programs found that enrollment by majors and pre-majors in computer science increased 6.2% last year-8.1% if declared majors are counted.
