Note to Hewlett-Packard's board: Get out of the way of the management team and employees who are trying to turn the company around. End the distractions. The most recent of these distractions is Ray Lane's stepping down as board chairman after narrowly avoiding getting kicked off the board in a proxy battle. It was the only decision he could have made after more than 40% of HP share- holders gave him a no-confidence vote.
