Marjorie M.K. Hlava, a pioneer of the information industry, is the recipient of the 2014 Miles Conrad Award. Appointed by the NFAIS board of directors, Hlava presented the Miles Conrad Lecture at the organization's annual conference on Feb. 24. The lecture, which is given in honor of NFAIS founder G. Miles Conrad, "recog-nize[s] and honor[s] those members of the Information Community who have made significant contributions to the field of information science and to NFAIS itself," according to NFAIS' executive director, Marcie Granahan. Upon hearing the news of her honor, Hlava said, "Previous recipients are people I have long admired and looked up to as luminaries in our field. I am truly honored to be among them."
