Scalar recoding and regular 2~w-ary right-to-left EC scalar multiplication algorithm

摘要

This paper proposed a new SPA-resistant EC scalar multiplication algorithm based on the scalar recoding method. Since the newly recoded scalar does not have 0 digits in its representation, it intrinsically prevents SPA. Also, since the new method is applied to a 2~w-ary scalar multiplication algorithm, implementers may trade-off the performance with the memory usage to get adequate implementation characteristics.
