The role of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in developing countries (DCs) is a constant topic of concern for contributors to Information Development. The term 'digital divide' is perhaps becoming less fashionable these days than it was a short while ago, but the problems it reflects still exist - though they are being overcome, in many countries, more quickly than was once expected.
