摘要

With this issue we begin the 30th volume of Information Development. From the beginning, the journal aimed to focus on the information needs and problems of the developing countries, providing, inter alia, a publishing outlet and encouragement to developing country authors. Developing countries have always been well represented on the Editorial Advisory Board, and the 21 current Board members and their predecessors have played an active part in reviewing papers submitted for possible publication. Until recently, reviewing was dome exclusively by Board members, but a rapid and substantial increase in the number of submissions in the last 2 years has made it necessary to call also on the help of external reviewers, most of whom have themselves contributed papers to the journal in the past.
