Instructions, visuals, and the English-speaking bias of technical communication

Both in Europe and the United States, readers of technical instructions for electronic equipment have diverse linguistic backgrounds. In Europe many of these manuals are produced in different European languages, although immigrants from other countries like Turkey or Morocco will not find any information in their mother tongue.
