IMPLEMENTING MANAGER STANDARD WORK

I enjoyed Jamie Flinchbaugh's article, Buililing Manager Standard Work" (Novmnlicr 2011) and wanted to add a few thoughts based upon my implementation experience. I liked the reference to 5S. I have brought the different levels of the management team together simultaneously to work on exactly this. We list their activities by level and define/list which are value added versus nonvalue added. Because we have the different levels represented, we are able to agree on which NVA can be eliminated. Typically we are able to reduce the number of meetings and reports required.
