Double blind yields clear results IERC PAPER REVIEW PROCESS ENSURES INTEGRITY, OBJECTIVITY

For the second straight year, papers submitted for the Industrial Engineering Research Conference will undergo a double-blind review process. For years, IERC papers have been reviewed via a single-blind process, where authors didn't know who reviewed their papers, but the reviewers knew the authors. In 2010, officials moved to the double-blind process, where neither author nor reviewer knows the other s identity. IERC will have at least two reviewers per paper, according to conference Co-Chair Eileen Van Aken. The double-blind peer review ensures the integrity, objectivity, fairness and professionalism of the review process. For this reason, most refereed journals and conference proceedings use it, Van Aken said.
