摘要

The removal efficiency of limestone powder in removal of COD from domestic wastewater was investigated. Batch studies were carried out to find the adsorption capacity of limestone powder. In this paper the effect of contact time, adsorbent dose, on the removal of COD was studied. Kinetic study reveals the removal efficiency was 35% which was achieved in the contact time of 120 min. The rate kinetics was found to be fit with pseudo-1st order kinetic model and their constants were evaluated. The Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms were satisfactorily fits to equilibrium data and maximum adsorption capacity 7.117 mg/g was observed.
