The Management of Elstree Studios welcomed a large group of BKSTS members to a tour of their facilities, on 26th May this year. Neville Reid, Director of Studios, and Julie Wicks, Director of Production, explained their set up before leading a tour of some of the territory. The studio area is smaller than it was in those heady days when Stanley Kubrick and Steven Spielberg made some of their major pictures there, but we saw the result of their scheme of securing some regular business from the sometimes despised, but commercially reliable field of Reality TV series. In a business where there will always be peaks and troughs, it seems quite a smart move to establish some things that will weather the troughs. Our party visited the standing set for the quiz show "Who wants to be a Millionaire?" (Most of our members affirmed that they did).
