Semi-Instrument IAPs

The FAA has all kinds of procedures. Half of them are old and archaic, some are stupid, and many will drive you crazy. But somehow, they all work. Some of them even make sense. Imagine that. Case in point? Charted visual procedures that are generally not well known to pilots without an instrument rating work nicely. Some of them are not even well known to pilots with instrument ratings. As we've discussed in past issues, you can get a visual approach just about anywhere, provided the weather is VFR. As discussed on page 6, visuals are a free-flow way to shave time off IFR arrivals.
