摘要

We have proposed the concept of "Dependable Air," which is a heterogeneous and highly-reliable wireless network. The Dependable Air is able to work even in the event of a big disaster. For the evaluation of wireless systems and the Dependable Air, wireless dependability indexes are suggested. The wireless dependability indexes are discussed in terms of throughput, coverage and number of users. For realization of the Dependable Air, we propose multi-band and multi-mode terminal technology; which is called "Dependable Wireless System (DWS)". A multi-mode frequency domain equalizer, that is a key module of DWS, is implemented by using application specific integrated circuit (ASIC).
