A Simple Preamble Based Algorithm for Joint Estimation of Frequency Offset and I/Q Imbalance in MIMO OFDM Based Wireless LAN

We proposed a simple scheme for estimating CFO and I/Q imbalance from the received 802.1 In preamble field. The algorithm was derived from a previous work on SISO systems where closed form solutions were derived to compute I/Q imbalance and CFO parameters. Aside from high accuracy, the previous work also feature low complexity compared to previously proposed algorithms. In this report, we showed that this algorithm is easily extended to MIMO case and through simulations showed the excellent performance of our proposed algorithm.
