摘要

In order to evaluate the performance of surge protective devices under the surge immunity test, the method to model the Combination Wave Generator is researched, which can be adapted to different loading conditions in practical manner. With the recommended equivalent circuit in the IEC standard, all the circuit parameters are determined according to the specifications from the manufacturer. To simplify the procedure for determining the circuit parameters, two second-order circuits are extracted according to the short-circuit condition and open-circuit condition respectively. The equivalent circuit of the generator is validated experimentally.
