Exploring complex, very large data sets requires interfaces tonpresent and navigate through the visualization of the data. Two types ofnaudience benefit from such coherent organization and representation:nfirst, the user of the visualization system can examine and evaluatentheir data more efficiently; second, collaborators or reviewers cannquickly understand and extend the visualization. The needs of these twongroups are addressed by the spreadsheet-like interface described in thisnpaper. The interface represents a 2D window in a multidimensionalnvisualization parameter space. Data is explored by navigating this spacenvia the interface. The visualization space is presented to the user in anmanner that clearly identifies which parameters correspond to whichnvisualized result. Operations defined on this space can be applied whichngenerate new parameters or results. Combined with a general-purposeninterpreter, these functions can be utilized to quickly extract desirednresults. Finally, by encapsulating the visualization process, redundantnexploration is eliminated and collaboration is facilitated. The efficacynof this novel interface is demonstrated through examples using a varietynof data sets in different domains
