Electric power systems have been present in the curricula of most electrical engineering schools. Interest in this field has fluctuated over the years — presently many schools are reducing their offerings in electric power. However, a few institutions are attempting to not only keep the field of power engineering alive, but also to bring modern practices of electric power engineering into the classroom.
