Bird in the Hand: An Electronic Field Guide App for Bird Watchers

Colombia has one of the highest species counts of birds in the world, many of which are exotic and endangered (see Fig. 1). As a result, the country is emerging as an attractive destination for birding tours and scientific expeditions. Moreover, administrative authorities are heavily promoting bird watching as an option for sustainable tourism and as a key sector for local economies.
