摘要

Optical bistability and differential amplification, arising as a consequence of the nonlinear Kerr effect in fiber resonators, are considered in the present paper. A structure-independent transfer matrix method devised for linear operation is extended to account for nonlinear self-phase effects. General expressions are presented and applied to particular cases showing complete agreement with previously published results.
