Optical modes in semiconductor microdisk lasers

We present a method for calculation of the optical modes innmicrodisk resonant cavities. The optical field distribution, theneigenvalue equation for resonant wavelengths, and the formula for the Qnvalues of microdisks are established. Numerical results for emittingnmodes of long-wavelength semiconductor microdisk lasers are presented inndetail and compared with experimental data
