Using a modified version of the split-step Fourier method, wenanalyze the effect of noise on soliton propagation inside erbium-dopednfiber amplifiers. In fact, noise from forward-propagating amplifiednspontaneous emission, associated with a Markov immigration process, isnincluded in the analysis of soliton amplification. Moreover, thisnalgorithm accounts for the real spectral gain profile of the fibernamplifier. The frequency jitter, induced during soliton amplification,nis compared with the Gordon-Haus effect where optical amplifiers arenconsidered as noisy point-like devices
