Serendipitous Relations as Self-Organization through Reflective Engagement

In his astute and insightful article, Christopher Napolitano [this issue] presented a theory of serendipitous relations to address what remains an underexplored arena of transaction and transformation in development: those person-environment relations in which individuals intentionally act to both promote and take advantage of unexpected life events, establishing novel developmental pathways of adaptive organization in the process.
