Hilton Has Two New 'homes'

The Chris Nassetta-led Hilton Hotels Corp. is making a lot of headlines-first with the launch of two new brands and then with the announcement it is moving across the country to relocate its headquarters to Fairfax County, Virginia. Citing its Pacific time zone as an obstacle to international business efficiency, Hilton announced in January plans to relocate from its swanky Beverly Hills address to a location in the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The company is currently negotiating with prospective landlords in Fairfax County and will announce an exact location once a lease is finalized. The move will take place sometime during the third quarter of this year. Hilton will invest at least US$17 million in the move and create more than 300 permanent, full-time jobs in Fairfax County over the next three years. The relocation also will significantly reduce operating expenses, allow the company to take advantage of tax incentives and is expected to aid in talent attraction and retention.
