If you employ more than five people, then the chances are from next month you will have to offer them access to a stakeholder pension or risk a £50,000 fine. Here Nick Edmans of the Occupational Pensions Regulatory Authority (Opra) explains what you need to do. If you have five or more employees, from October 8 you may be obliged to offer your staff access to a stakeholder pension scheme. If you do not, you could wind up with a fine of up to £50,000.
