Under the watchful CCTV eye

Tyco Integrated Systems (TIS), a part of Tyco Fire & Security, is working with Atkins to design, supply, install and integrate the UK's first IP-based Traffic CCTV system for motorway and road traffic surveillance. The new system is part of a major new integrated Traffic Monitoring Centre being built for the Welsh Assembly to cover major roads and motorways in South Wales. The system being supplied by TIS will integrate new and existing cameras on the M4, A40, A470, A465 and other roads, allowing centralised monitoring and control from a state-of-the-art control room equipped with the latest digital video technology - all to help improve traffic management and provide a faster response to incidents.
