Case Study-how A Travel Plan Works

Cambridge Science Park is on one of the busiest sections of the A14.More than 5,000 people travel to work there every day to work in more than 90 businesses. It was an ideal candidate for an area travel plan,so in 2006,the Highways Agency and its consultants JMP worked on the development of a plan with the Cambridgeshire Travel for Work Partnership (TfW) which is hosted by Cambridgeshire County Council,Bidwells, the Park's managing agents and a group of Park employers. Its focus is to encourage more cycling,walking,public transport use and,of course,car-sharing.
