CA Blackwell,South West Highways,Tarmac,Hanson,Lafarge and Bardon have all submitted bids for a ￡1.5 million Highways Agency scheme for resurfacing and barrier replacement for the A38 between Goodstone and Whistley Hill. Carillion and Hanson are among the contractors chasing a ￡3 million job for the Highways Agency to widen a section of carriageway at junction 32 of the M6 in Preston.The successful firm will also carry out work to the slip road,sign gantries,culvert and lighting and is expected to start on site in December 2008. Associated Asphalt,Carillion,Fitzpatrick and Skanska are chasing a ￡20 million deal to install a bus priority scheme in London.The Transport for London project features bus priority proposals on existing roads,new bus ways and conversion of some dual carriageways into two-way bus roads and is expected to start in January 2009.
