Amey assembles new fleet to take on £300m maintenance contract

The £300-million, five-year contract covers large stretches of the M5, M6. M50, M54, M40 and M42 motorways as well as major thoroughfares such as the A46, A45 and A500. As well as performing routine maintenance, traffic management and incident response duties, Amey is also responsible for updating and improving technology systems and equipment across the region. To service this contract, Amey has invested in a new fleet of 20 Mercedes 18-tonners - comprising 11 low-entry Econics and nine Axor - all of which were supplied by Mudie-Bond, Oxford.
