Carbon saving material passes the Islington test

Ours is an energy-intensive business. From extraction of raw materials, through production, transportation and laying of blacktop, large amounts of carbon are emitted into the atmosphere as energy is consumed. The industry as a whole, and Ring way as a company, are making strides in reducing those impacts through recycling reclaimed road materials and other substitutes for virgin aggregate, developing thinner surfacings, and adopting cold-lay technology. Devising and bringing to market more sustainable products has become the main focus of the research and development programme of both Ringway and its parent, Eurovia. The latest fruit of that joint effort, and potentially a major development for the highways sector, is Tempera.
