Private maintenance deal moves closer

London's first local authority Private Finance Initiative (PFI) concession for highways maintenance has moved a step closer with the appointment of consultant Mouchel as technical advisor.rnLast year, an application to the Department for Transport (DfT) from the London Borough of Hounslow for £198m in PFI credits for a concession to help maintain 430-km of roads and 20,000 street lights was approved.rnMouchel project director Ray Powell said: "Being appointed technical adviser on this pathfinder PFI will build on Mouchel's experience and capability in highways maintenance, asset management and PFI."
