Infrastructure innovation to beat economic challenges

Terry Last, CEO of Tarmac Quarry Products, pulled no punches over the economic challenges facing the construction industry as a whole. Saying that even if economic recovery began in 2012 it would take until the end of the decade to reach the outputs of 2007, Last explained that public sector investment will fall from 3.9% of GDP in 2009/10 to just 1.25o/o in 2013/14 - considerably lower than the 2.25% level below which public buildings and infrastructure conditions deteriorate.
