Reducing the risk to road workers

Last year 14 road workers were seriously injured on motorways and major trunk roads in England. Compared to previous years, the figure shows progress, but any injury or near-miss is one too many.rnAnd road workers who reported accidents and incidents between 2006 and 2011 included evidence of five drivers and two passengers being killed as a result of their vehicles entering work areas. So despite the progress, work is still required to eliminate these risks.
