BAM Nuttall, Carillion, Graham and Galliford Try returned prices on April 19 for a £10 million inner distributor road project in Taunton for Somerset County Council. A public enquiry is due to start this month and not conclude until August. If the scheme is approved, a successful contractor could start by the end of this year. Work will be supervised by Parsons Brinckerhoff. Mildren and Raymond Brown are among contractors to return bids for a £750,000 proposal to refurbish Hockley Viaduct in Winchester. The scheme is being put together by the city council and Sustrans and, with work pencilled in to start in July, an award is imminent.
